“To pray is to let go and let God take over” – Philippians 4:6-7
Life in
Montana has been crazy, awesomely busy this summer! We have had lots of
visitors here at Mission Builders, many volunteers coming to volunteer & I
have been sending out many many volunteers around the world! Thank you for all
your prayers & financial support! God is doing so many incredible things
around the world!
At the
end of June I flew to Colorado to celebrate my mom and dads and my aunt’s “50th”
birthday. It was a special time spent with my family. I also spent a few days
working and drove to YWAM Cimarron, Colorado about 5 hours away from Colorado
Springs to the YWAM base there, a location I have sent volunteers. It’s always
a blessing being able to visit these bases where I’ve sent volunteers. I also
stopped at YWAM Colorado Springs, trying to build up their Mission Builder
program there, to start getting volunteers for them.
In July I
took a train to Eugene, Oregon for a family wedding. It was a beautiful
weekend.
My aunt
Ann, Cousin Marcy and her husband Nathan & their daughter Alice came and
visited me here in Lakeside, Montana to see where I am and what God is doing
here. So special.
Also in
July, I officially graduated my probationary period as a Firefighter. I got my
badge and my new helmet. Officially a Firefighter! It’s been a ministry in
itself, being able to minister to people in car crashes, or whatever the
emergency call might be. I will also be starting EMT school in September. You
can find me at Flathead Valley Community College on Tuesday nights and all day
Saturdays until Dec 15th. Looking forward to the medical part of
EMS.
Been busy
with our garden plot in the community garden in Lakeside, learning how to grow
things & its been fun! I also took an Aquaponics class, learning how to
grow food and taking it overseas to teach people how to grow their own food.
August 16th
I head out with Stanwood Foursquare Church to the Dominican Republic with Food
for the Hungary. We will be going into the Batey Antonci village and teaching
leadership skills, education, VBS and teaching them to be independent. I will
also get to meet the child my family sponsors monthly. His name is Ruben. I
will be staying a few extra days to do Mission Builder work there, as we
proceed building up the mission builder program there.
Please
keep me in your prayers as I travel to the Dominican Republic as we share about
Jesus and love on the village of Batey Antonci. I continue to pray for monthly
support and partnership in my ministry here at YWAM Mission Builders
International. If you could keep that in your prayers as well.
Thank you
to all for your prayers! I can’t wait to update more upon my return from the
Dominican Republic!
May God Bless you All Abundantly!
Love you all - Rachel
